Hidden system of ‘volcanic plumbing’ could be creating lava waves on Jupiter’s moon Io

The most detailed map yet of volcanic activity on Jupiter’s moon Io has been created, showing complex waves of lava covering its largest volcanic lake.

Io, the closest of Jupiter’s four Galilean moons, is the most geologically active body in our Solar System, and contains the least amount of water.
