Dogs have personalities, as any loving owner will attest. Now a preliminary study that used GPS to track a small group of pets has revealed a dog social network that may depend on the personalities of the individuals.
In future, such data may be key to figuring out whether groups of dogs form complex social hierarchies like wild wolves – a hotly debated question in animal psychology. It could even allow keen owners to partake in do-it-yourself dog psychology.
